I wanted to have a debate/conversation about away tickets. From Ilves fans in general. Please feel free to reply in Finnish if it is easier for you, I can always translate the replies. I just don't trust google translate enough to do this in Finnish.
Away ticket information:
Straight away, I know there will be mixed opinions on this based on how things are done in Finland. However this is one of those things that I feel we can do a lot better with as a whole. Especially as we grow more as a club and more people are interested in away ticket information and tickets. However action needs to be taken now, to encourage more people to start attending away games.
Firstly - Very rarely do I see away ticket information on the Ilves website or Instagram, Which to me is odd. We should advertise away games, even if no supporters bus is set up by Niilon Pojat, Why? you may ask. - Independent travel, I have heard people talking about encouraging fans to attend more away games. Even by their own method of transport. There may also be fans that would prefer to travel to games this way.
Often at away games, there are quite a few Ilves fans in the home stands. People have suggested this is because some are scared to voice and support their club or wish to take a quieter approach, Which I do understand from a cultural perspective and will certainly be the case for some. However, I am pretty sure some of these fans are buying tickets in the home stands due to the lack of away ticket information.
IMO away ticket information and sales should be made more openly and readily available. If a restriction needs to be made for high-profile games, there must be a way to do that without compromising on ticket information in general.
