According to most style guides,
nouns,
pronouns,
verbs,
adjectives, and
adverbs are capitalized in
titles of books, articles, songs, and beyond. The popular grammar and punctuation style guides generally agree that when spelling out a title, the first and last words should be capitalized, as should all major words in between. Similarly, they concur that articles (
the,
an,
a), short conjunctions (
and,
but,
or,
for,
nor), and short prepositions (
in,
off,
on,
out,
at,
by) should be in lowercase unless they’re the first or last word.
